It helps connect women back to the inherent life rhythms ~ circadian rhythms, diurnal rhythms, nocturnal rhythms, moon cycles and life cycles. The drum represents circular time, like the ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail. We drum to honor the eternal cycles of life. The drum brings us back to the heartbeat rhythms from within the womb of Mother and Grandmother. In the myth of the Sacred Drum it is the Great Creatrix who with the strike on her drum - vibrates the world into being.”
